that I am 22 weeks 1 day prego, and that it is a boy =)

Work is going alright, we have our slow days, we have our good days. It got kinda scary there for a while, and I was keeping my eyes open for something else just in case. I don't want to leave, though, I love my job =)

Isa is doing awesome in school, getting good grades and teaching herself how to play new songs on the violin: she taught herself how to play the starwars battle theme =). She also knows how to play the iroman theme song. She had her first "concert" a few weeks ago and did really well. No solos though =). She's also playing lots of videogames with Derek. They started playing "Dynasty Warriors 6" together, and she also stared playing "Animal Crossing" for the wii. Always finishes homework first, though :)

Derek and I moved in together a few weeks ago. I know it's "soon" and I don't feel the need to explain myself, but I will say this: when you know, you just know. All of my big stuff (bed, couches, etc) are still @ the apartment, and some clothes and other little things. I am not looking forward to packing, and I have to get everything out before the last of this month.

I am working on finally applying for my US citizenship and it looks like a royal pain in the ass, but i guess it has to be done sooner or later... the fee to apply is $675. ugh. On an exciting note, totally unrelated to the ins stuff, I gots an ink appointment in 3 weeks to finish up my geisha. I am so excited!!

Yesterday I found out a good friend of mine had a snowboarding accident and was on life support.  Aj let me know he wasn't going to make it, and they were keeping him on life support so his family could say their goodbyes... He passed away yesterday afternoon.

They really don't know what happened since he was snowboarding by himself, and was found unconscious.

These news hit me like a ton of bricks. This is so surreal, I still feel like I'm dreaming. Kolby was one of the most amazing human beings I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. A very genuine, super cool guy, and amazing dj.

I always looked @ him and Ashley (his wife) as one of the coolest, most solid couples I've ever met. I can not imagine what she's going thru right now... losing your best friend and your soulmate. She is also 6 months pregnant.

My heart goes out to her and their family.

You will be missed, Kolby :(

taking a BIG step...

we had a really good weekend, we made it to kc around 11 on friday cause we left super late (6pm turned into 8pm) and hung out for a bit then went to bed. Saturday we went to the nelson-atkins art museum, out to bbq for dinner, then D and I went to see LAOS of hospital records play @ the riot room. 2 of derek's closest friend (sarah & hannah) came to meet us, and my friend Matt whom I hadn't seen in 5 years also showed up later that night. Now we're supposed to go back in a couple of weeks for a big bday bash (sarah, hannah and derek's).

on sunday,  dennis (d's dad) cooked us a steak and shrimp lunch, and we just vegged out on the couch and watched movies/ played isa's new game "link's crossbow training" on the wii. we got home last night around 9:30ish and instead of unpacking, we played more videogames. haha

Derek's 30th bday is this saturday and he told me last night he doesn't want to go out, but just hang out with me. I think I may cook him some dinner, get some good movies and drink some good wine.

I kinda wanted to take him out to dinner somewhere super nice, and have a small get together for him, but he made it clear he just wants to be home and relax....

let me just start off saying that I had a great vday. Derek took me to Kai for sushi and sake, and got me some sweet smelling stuff and some other cute things, but I'm not saying what ;-). I got him the most non-romantic present: a limited edition starwars hoodie by marc ecko. He was so stoked!

Sunday, his parents came into town from KC to hang out and take us out to lunch.  I was very, very nervous, but everything went really well =)

Tomorrow is Isa's bday, she's going to be 11!! So scary. She's also competing in a spelling bee against all of the other 5th graders from all of the springfield schools. I am so proud!

We are taking her out to sushi (hopefully we can talk her into getting vietnamese instead) for her bday tomorrow night after the spelling bee, then we are leaving on friday evening for KC to spend the weekend with Derek's family and to take Isa to the art museum, do some grafitti hunting, maybe some shopping...  and I just fond out L.A.O.S is playing in KC that night *crosses fingers*

I have a boyfriend doesn't mean I like valentines day now, ok???

We are still going to dinner and bought each other vday presents. soooo weird. I haven't "celebrated" vday in like, forever.

and yes, i got a really cute dress, i wanted to dress up for my valentine... oh lord, wtf is happening to me??

ok ok, i'm not gonna lie, i'm kinda giddy.

Isa and I have been stranded @ Derek's since Monday night. We have been hanging out w/ Ozzie and playing wii and ps3 to our hearts content, but it really sucks that I could not make it in for work 2 days in a row. I got rent coming up, you know?

Anyway, the storm was much more mellow than we were expecting, we did not lose power (thankfully) but the roads were pretty bad and slick. I just spent 1.5 hrs getting the snow/ice off of my car, so it will be ready to go in the morning. Fayetteville got hit pretty hard though, I hope everyone is doing ok down there.

Derek is very good @ driving in these conditions (grew up in Illinois), so he did make it to work both days. Now we are just waiting for him to get home so we can go sledding =)

I am so ready to get out of the house =(

we have a severe winter storm warning from early this afternoon till tomorrow evening... according to the weather channel it's gonna be pretty gross. 1-3 inches of sleet/snow accumulation... hope it's nothing like the ice storm of 07.

yuck.

screw it, we're going to Derek's anyway, he has a fireplace =)

running on 3 hours of sleep is not fun.
